Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed, Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, will inaugurate the Nile Real Estate Exhibition, which will take place from Thursday, 24 January to 26 January, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event will be attended by Eng. Khaled Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing, along with a distinguished group of Arab and foreign businessmen and investors, and with the participation of a number of leading real estate development companies in Egypt.
The Nile Real Estate Exhibition is considered one of Egypt’s most important promotional tools for exporting real estate, supporting the real estate industry, and positioning it on both the regional and international maps. The exhibition provides real estate developers with the opportunity to showcase their projects to a large base of potential buyers in Egypt, including members of the Arab world and foreign communities residing in the UAE. Accordingly, the exhibition represents a strong opportunity to highlight the competitive advantages of Egyptian real estate and attract purchasing power, which in turn drives the Egyptian economy forward and opens new horizons for growth.
Ambassador Nabila Makram stated that the exhibition represents a promising and distinctive platform for promoting the Egyptian real estate market, and that it aligns with the strategy of exporting Egyptian real estate abroad—an initiative strongly supported by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and led by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister and Minister of Housing. This reflects the image of Egypt’s urban development projects within the framework of the Egypt Vision 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy.
For his part, Eng. Khaled Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects, stated that the Ministry of Housing has a clear plan to support the export of real estate abroad, in cooperation with real estate developers, and to achieve sales to foreign investors.
A panel discussion will also be held on the sidelines of the exhibition in Abu Dhabi on 23 January 2019, to discuss ways of promoting Egypt and supporting its image internationally. The session will be attended by Ambassador Nabila Makram, along with a group of prominent speakers and real estate developers, with the aim of placing Egypt firmly on the Arab investment map by presenting the perspectives of the government, the business community, and real estate developers to the Arab world.
The session will also include participation from representatives of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the UAE Businesswomen Council at the UAE Chambers of Commerce, the Egyptian Economic Council for Businesswomen, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the UN Investment and Technology Promotion Offices (ITPO), the Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship and Investment, and the Rashid Center for People of Determination.
Meanwhile, Mohsen Adel, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), stated that Egypt ranked first in Africa in attracting foreign and Arab investments according to the World Investment Report. He noted that Egypt has succeeded in attracting direct Arab and foreign investments representing approximately 12.3% of the total accumulated balances of all Arab countries, making it a prime destination for major Arab and foreign investments. This success is attributed to the significant efforts made recently to improve Egypt’s investment climate.
Dr. Bassem Klela, Chairman of Expo Republic, stated that the overall investment climate in Egypt has become more supportive of attracting investments, particularly following the issuance of a decision allowing foreigners to obtain temporary non-tourism residency permits for periods ranging from three to five years, renewable, for those who own one or more properties in Egypt.
He added that attracting real estate investments to the Egyptian market will support and stimulate the economy and open new markets across the region.
Expo Republic, the organizer of the Nile Real Estate Exhibition, organized the event out of firm belief in the importance of Egyptian companies supporting state policies and the Egyptian market in attracting more Arab and foreign investors, by adopting a strategy of exporting and promoting Egyptian real estate in Arab and foreign countries.
The Nile Real Estate Exhibition will bring together a group of Egypt’s largest real estate developers to showcase a wide range of residential and commercial projects. It also serves as a distinguished platform for Egyptian developers to present their products outside Egypt, open new international markets, and expand their real estate portfolios.
It is worth noting that the previous conference was attended by a large number of senior Egyptian and Emirati government officials, most notably Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Khaled Al Nahyan.
The three-day exhibition, which was held over an area of 4,000 square meters, achieved sales of EGP 1.1 billion, attracted more than 3,834 visitors, and featured the participation of over 14 real estate developers from leading companies in the Egyptian market.
